Members pay by card, in the app.
Connect your own Stripe account and members settle invoices, day passes and event tickets by card from the tersOS app. The money lands in your Stripe account. tersOS never holds it.
What your space gets
Every issued invoice gets a Pay button in the app. The member pays on Stripe’s secure page and comes straight back; the invoice shows as paid the moment Stripe confirms it, and the payment is recorded on that invoice so your books match the bank without anyone at the desk doing it.
A member can keep a card on file. Members who switch on automatic payment have each new invoice charged the day it is issued: the monthly membership, a day pass, an event ticket. If a charge fails, the member hears about it with a link to pay by hand, you see it too, and tersOS tries once more three days later.
Refunds happen from the invoice page in tersOS, in full or in part. The money goes back to the card through Stripe and a credit note is written for the records.
How to connect
You need a Stripe account for your space. If you already have one, it works as it is. Connecting takes a minute and no technical help.
- Step 1In your Stripe dashboard open Developers → API keys and copy the secret key. Use a test key to try things out, a live key when you want real money to move.
- Step 2In tersOS open Settings → Online payments, paste the key under Stripe and press Save and test connection.
- Step 3That is all. tersOS checks the key with Stripe and sets up the payment notifications on your account by itself. Members see the Pay button from the next invoice.
To stop taking cards, or to switch to another provider, use the same page. Cards saved with a disconnected provider stop working and automatic payment is switched off for those members.
What members see
On an unpaid invoice: a Pay button and a tick to keep the card for next time. Stripe’s page takes the card and any bank confirmation, then the app shows whether the payment went through.
Under Settings → Payment methods: the cards on file, a way to add or remove one, and the switch “Pay my invoices automatically”. A member who looks after a team’s billing sees the team’s cards there as well.
Nothing changes for members who prefer a bank transfer. The invoice and its payment details stay as they are.
Where it works and what it costs
Stripe is available to businesses in the EU, Croatia and most of the countries on Stripe’s own list. It is not available in Bosnia and Herzegovina or Serbia; spaces there get Monri and NLB, which are on the way with the same Pay button and the same automatic payments.
You pay Stripe’s usual card fees, settled by Stripe into your account. tersOS adds nothing on top and takes no cut.
- Does tersOS hold the money at any point?
- No. Payments go straight to your Stripe account. tersOS only tells Stripe what to charge and records what Stripe confirms.
- We already use Stripe for something else. Can we use the same account?
- Yes. Paste that account’s key. tersOS adds its own payment notifications to the account and touches nothing else.
- Which cards and payment methods are offered?
- Whatever you have enabled in your Stripe dashboard. Cards are the usual choice; if you enable others, they settle the invoice in the same way but no card is kept on file.
- Can a member pay part of an invoice?
- The Pay button takes the full amount still due on the invoice. Partial amounts are still recorded by your team, as before.
